Everything you need to know about NutriSana EQ formulas.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
NutriSana EQ is a science-built equine supplement system designed to support performance, recovery, gut health, and whole-horse wellness. Our flagship formulas, CORE and ORIGIN, combine premium ingredients, targeted mineral support, and botanical actives to help horses stay sound, strong, and ride-ready.
Most supplements hit one thing at a time — joints, gut, coat, or hooves. NutriSana EQ is built for synergy, not scatter. Each formula blends:
- Structural support (joints, tendons, soft tissue)
- Gut and inflammation support
- Recovery and resilience
Fewer tubs. Less guesswork. More complete support in every scoop.
Flaxseed
Many horses don’t tolerate flax well and can show skin or digestive reactions. We use chia seeds instead as a cleaner, safer omega-3 source.
Vitamin E
The most effective, high-uptake forms of Vitamin E are water-soluble, and stability in dry powder blends can be an issue. We prefer leaving Vitamin E flexible so you can choose a standalone, high-quality source if needed.
MSM
MSM can be helpful for some horses, but it can also irritate sensitive stomachs. NutriSana EQ focuses on gentler, botanical and collagen-based approaches to support comfort and recovery.
Vitamin C
Instead of synthetic Vitamin C, we use rosehips, a natural, stable source that brings additional phytonutrient support.
Yes. In fact, we prefer it soaked.
We recommend soaking the chia-based blend with water and your horse’s feed. This:
- Makes it easier to mix and feed
- Supports hydration
- Helps with nutrient absorption and gut comfort
- Standard soak:15–30 minutes to allow chia to fully hydrate and form a gel
- Cold weather:Up to 45 minutes may be needed
- Overnight soak:Safe and convenient — just keep it in a cool, clean environment
- Quick-soak method:Use warm water, stir well, and you can typically feed in about 5–10 minutes
NutriSana EQ is designed for:
- Performance horsesneeding stamina, structural support, and faster recovery
- Rehab horsescoming back from stress, injury, or gut imbalance
- Everyday partnerswho deserve balanced, anti-inflammatory nutrition built on a forage-first foundation
Yes. NutriSana EQ is formulated as a base system and pairs well with many focused add-ons, including herbal formulas such as Chinese medicine blends (like ActivateQI).
Best practice:
- Use NutriSana EQ as your primary base supplementon top of forage and a mineral balancer or low-NSC grain.
- Layer additional products only where there’s a clear need (ulcer protocol, targeted joint support, etc.).
No loading dose is required.
NutriSana EQ is designed for steady daily support that your horse can utilize right away.
Typical timelines:
- 3–4 weeks:Brighter coat, healthier manure, more consistent energy and attitude
- 60–90 days:Deeper changes in hoof quality, joint comfort, tissue resilience, and overall recovery
For horses with chronic soundness issues or heavy performance demands, some owners choose to feed a 60 g scoop twice per day for enhanced support, especially during high-stress or high-load periods.
Yes — certain feeds or add-ons can compete with or bind nutrients.
Key things to watch:
- Excess Iron (Fe):
High-iron feeds, fortified mixes, or iron-rich water can interfere with absorption of copper, zinc, and manganese. Since NutriSana EQ is mineral-balanced, extra iron can throw off the ratios. - High-Calcium Sources:
Over-supplementation of calcium (e.g., heavy added limestone or stacking multiple high-alfalfa products) may reduce uptake of magnesium, zinc, and phosphorus. - Binding Agents (Clays & Charcoal):
Bentonite clay, zeolite, and activated charcoal can bind trace minerals and reduce nutrient availability, especially if fed at the same timeas NutriSana EQ. - Overlapping Supplements:
Doubling up on yeast cultures, probiotics, or joint blends isn’t usually harmful, but it may not be necessary and can compete for absorption or alter gut fermentation patterns.
Best practice:
Feed NutriSana EQ as the foundation. If you use detox products, clays, or heavy mineral add-ons, feed them 2–3 hours apart from NutriSana EQ
A standard 30-day supply is calculated for an average 1,000 lb horse at the recommended daily serving. Adjust up or down for body weight, workload, and your chosen feeding strategy (single or twice-daily servings).
