Collagen Support for Performance Horses | NutriSana EQ

Peptides made the repair conversation louder. NutriSana EQ brings it back to the foundation: collagen, amino acids, and transparent support for the whole performance horse.

Peptides, Collagen, and the Repair Conversation

I feel like this is a conversation that needs to be discussed. There is a reason peptides like BPC-157 are getting attention, but they have a lane. Horse owners, athletes, and performance-minded people are looking for better ways to support tissue repair, recovery, joint comfort, and long term soundness. The demand is real. Anyone who has campaigned a performance horse through a hard season knows that recovery is not optional. It is a program.

The difference is in the approach. BPC 157 is described in scientific literature as a “synthetic pentadecapeptide” that has shown regenerative and cytoprotective effects in many preclinical models, but human clinical data remain extremely limited, and while research continue to call for better designed clinical studies before firm safety and efficacy conclusions are made. Sports and regulatory organizations have also taken cautious positions with USADA identifying BPC-157 as prohibited under WADA S0 unapproved substance category and not approved for human clinical use by global regulatory authority.

NutriSana EQ was built from a different philosophy – Support the foundation with transparent, collagen based nutrients, and amino acid building blocks that make sense inside a forage first program.

Plain barn version “Peptides may be the buzz word. Collagen is the structure”

Why Collagen matters.

Collagen is one of the bodies key structural proteins. It helps form the framework of connective tissues such as tendons, ligaments, bone, cartilage, skin, and other supporting structures.

Biochemically, collagen has a distinctive amino acid pattern. Its primary sequence commonly follows glycine-proline-X or glycine-X-hydroxyproline, and every third amino acid is glycine, which helps the collagen triple helix form its right structure.

This is why NutriSana EQ focuses on building blocks not miracle claims. This is why we don’t just focus on one lane but the whole system. Connective tissues remodeling is a normal biological process that requires raw materials, time, appropriate loading recovery, and the rest of horse’s program to be in order. Nutrition is not the whole answer, but apart of the FOUNDATION.

What equine research says so far.

The collagen conversation in horses is not finished, but it is meaningful. A two centered pilot study evaluating specific bioactive collagen peptides in horses with mild to moderate naturally occurring osteoarthritis reported promising effects after three months, with the higher dose of 50 g dose showing a strong impact that 25 g a day.

Another equine study evaluated blood amino acids response after hydrolyzed collagen supplementation. Researchers found that supplement hydrolyzed collagen increased plasma concentrations of several relevant amino acids, including glycine, proline and hydroxyproline. This supports the concept of oral availability, although that study did not evaluate the clinical outcomes.

A separate study of a multi ingredient oral joint supplement in mature riding horses, which included hydrolyzed collagen among other joint support ingredients, found improved hock range of motion in treated horses but did not show changes in measured systemic inflammation or collagen metabolism biomarkers over 28 day period.

The honest take away collagen is not magic, and no supplement will ever replace vet care, nutrition, proper management, and forage. But collagen based nutrition has a more transparent and practical support rational than chasing unsupported repair claims.

Lets circle back to NutriSana EQ uses of a multi-species collagen approach.

A horse is not one joint, one tendon, or one ingredient pathway. A working horses is a whole system built with cartilage, tendon, ligament, fascia, muscle, gut, immune resilience, hoof quality, metabolic balance, and recovery capacity all interaction. NutriSana EQ multi-species collagen approach was chosen because connective tissue support should respect that complexity.

NutriSana EQ Core Formula Positioning

NutriSana EQ CORE was built for the horse in real work. The formula supports for major areas: tissue foundation, comfort, recovery, gut, immune resilience, and metabolic support.

It is not a quick fix. Not a miracle scoop. A system you can run season after season.

Origin is half the strength of Core and is fit for the young horses or coming back to work.

Rebound is 1.5 times in strength for the horses needing more intensive support.
